A field of type "Date" can be used to display a field in a task where a date can be entered manually or from a calendar view. The format used is based on defaults from the date and time settings.
If the "User Time Zones" option is enabled in the above mentioned settings menu, we recommend not to use this field type and to use only Date / Time type fields instead.
